Number Functions

SQL number functions allow performing mathematical operations and formatting numerical values.

ROUND — Rounding Numbers

Control the number of decimal places.

SELECT
    3.516 AS original_number,
    ROUND(3.516, 2) AS round_2,   -- 3.520
    ROUND(3.516, 1) AS round_1,   -- 3.500
    ROUND(3.516, 0) AS round_0;   -- 4.000

ABS — Absolute Value

Returns the positive value of a number.

SELECT
    -10 AS original_number,
    ABS(-10) AS absolute_value_negative,  -- 10
    ABS(10) AS absolute_value_positive;   -- 10
